Interstate 20 East or West
Take exit 60-B, the Moreland Avenue North exit. Turn right on Moreland and follow it approximately 3 miles. Moreland's street name will change to Briarcliff Road once it crosses Ponce de Leon Avenue. Continue straight on Briarcliff approximately 2 miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right and follow North Decatur one mile to the second traffic light. At this five-point intersection, make a soft left turn onto Dowman Drive to enter through the main gates of the university. Take the first right onto Fishburne Drive and continue until you reach the Fishburne Parking Deck on the right side. There is visitor parking on the ground level of the Fishburne deck. From the parking deck you can walk around to the front entrance of Woodruff Library.
Interstate 75 North or South
Take exit 248-C. Driving northbound this is the International Boulevard/ Freedom Parkway/ Carter Center exit; driving southbound the exit will read Freedom Parkway/Carter Center. Exit and drive east on Freedom Parkway/Georgia Route 10. You will cross Boulevard Dr. Note that you will not exit right on Georgia Route 42/Carter Center; instead, continue on Freedom Parkway until it dead-ends at Ponce de Leon Avenue. Turn right and continue on Ponce until you reach Briarcliff Road. Turn left on Briarcliff. Drive approximately 2 miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right and follow North Decatur Road one mile to the second traffic light. Interstate 85 North and Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport
The airport is located in the southwest section of the city, approximately 25 minutes from the Emory University campus. Visitors driving from the airport should take I-85 North. To get to Emory from Interstate 85 North, take exit 248-C, the International Boulevard/Freedom Parkway/Carter Center exit, and drive east on Freedom Parkway/ Georgia Route 10. Interstate 85 South
Take exit 91, the Clairmont Road exit. Turn left (east) on Clairmont and follow it approximately 3 miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right and follow North Decatur approximately one mile to the Emory campus. At the intersection with Oxford Road, turn right onto Dowman Drive into the main entrance of the campus. Take the first right onto Fishburne Drive and continue until you reach the Fishburne Parking Deck on the right side. There is visitor parking on the ground level of the Fishburne deck. From the parking deck you can walk around to the front entrance of Woodruff Library.
Public Transportation - MARTA
Atlanta's mass transit system is MARTA (Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority). MARTA operates a coordinated system of bus and train lines for access to all of Atlanta. Exact change ($1.75) or tokens are required.
The Emory campus is accessible from the Lindbergh MARTA station and the Inman Park station on the #6-Emory bus or from the Arts Center station and the Avondale station on the #36-North Decatur bus.
Coming from the airport, take any train northbound to the Lindbergh MARTA station, and take the #6-Emory bus to the Emory campus. Ask the bus driver to let you off in Emory Village. From this stop, walk up the hill into the campus to the main quadrangle on the right. Cross the quadrangle to the far end and you will see Woodruff Library at an angle off to the far right. Taxi
A cab ride from the airport to campus will cost from $30 to $40 and will take approximately 25 minutes with normal traffic. Allow at least an hour's travel time during weekday rush hours, 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
