BiographyMatt Roberts first joined the Robert W. Woodruff Library as a Woodruff Fellow in 2010. Now the Subject Librarian for Comparative Literature, German, and French and Italian Studies, he focuses on collection development and outreach and education.
In 2013, Matt earned a PhD from Emory University's Department of Comparative Literature, completing a dissertation, entitled "The Tears of Dionysus: the Birth of Catastrophic Theater in British Drama." Though he is preparing a manuscript on the correlation between contemporary British avant-garde theater and trauma, his research interests broadly concern the myriad ways that art engages personal and historical catastrophes.
In addition to his scholarly work, Matt has worked with the 7 Stages Koltès Project, Théâtre du Reve, and Working Title Playwrights, as well as several literary groups and publications, including Write Club ATL, Hyde ATL, and Fanzine.
