Final week for "Shadows of the Sun" exhibition

Friday, March 16, is your last chance to see “Shadows of the Sun: The Crosbys, the Black Sun Press & the Lost Generation,” on display in the Schatten Gallery at Emory University’s Woodruff Library.

The exhibition shines a light on modernism and the generation of writers, artists, jazz musicians and exiles in Paris after the First World War.

About 110 people attended the March 2 informal digital scholarship dialog with Emory University Distinguished Professor Salman Rushdie and Erika Farr, digital archives coordinator in the Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library (MARBL).

Thursday, Feb. 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. / Research Commons: You know you’re supposed to take control of your online presence, but how? The Digital Scholarship Commons (DiSC) is hosting a workshop on “Creating an Online Presence.” This workshop will cover basics like professionalizing your Facebook profile, using RSS feeds, and why anyone would bother with Twitter.

As part of a full slate of digital humanities-related events, the Digital Scholarship Commons is reprising its series of digital scholarship workshops.

Thurs., Feb. 9, 6-7p.m. / Research Commons: Join DiSC graduate fellow Moya Bailey in a Digital Scholarship Commons (DiSC) workshop titled “Remote Collaboration: Making it Work Across the World and Interwebs.” This workshop will explore digital tools that aid in collaborating across distance. We will identify different platforms for sharing work and discuss different processes for developing practices of collaboration with colleagues in other places.
