Dictionaries:

• define words and terms;
• confirm spelling, definition, and pronunciation;
• are used to find out how words are used;
• help to locate synonyms and antonyms; and
• help to trace the origin of words

To search EUCLID for dictionaries:

1. From EUCLID's search screen, select KEYWORD

2. Type in the word "dictionary" -- then the word "and" -- followed by your subject word.

e.g., dictionary AND anthropology

3.  Click on SEARCH EVERYTHING.

 

4. This example search would retrieve books' records such as:

Biographical Dictionary of Social and Cultural Anthropology
Woodruff Reference Collection: GN20 .B5 2004
