Encyclopedias:
- cover knowledge
or branches of knowledge in a comprehensive, but summary fashion;
- are useful
for providing facts and giving a broad survey of a topic; and
- are written
by specialists
To search EUCLID for encyclopedias:
1. From EUCLID's search screen, select KEYWORD
2. Type
in the word "encyclopedia" -- then the word "and" --
followed by your subject word.
3. Click on SEARCH EVERYTHING.
4. This example search would retrieve
books' records such as:
Encyclopedia of Life Sciences
Woodruff Reference Collection: QH302.5 .E525 2002
McGraw-Hill Concise Encyclopedia of Bioscience
Woodruff Reference Collection: QH302.5 .M378 2005
