| The Network Communications Division and University Technology Services (UTS)
provide and support the wireless network for Emory University.
Emory
Unplugged is the preferred WPA wireless service
for the Emory community. It provides for encrypted and
authenticated access to the Emory network from multiple
locations across campus and it is compatible with Windows
XP and Mac OS 10.3+.
Instructions for setting up Emory Unplugged (WPA) for
both Windows XP and Mac OS 10.3+ can be found at AAIT's
Configuration
Instructions page.
Please see the
Emory Unplugged website for more information on
the wireless network and for their list of frequently
asked questions. You can also view the campus's
wireless coverage map.
Is guest access available?
Yes, as long as you have an active wireless card that
is set up to detect new networks. Click on the EmoryGuest
network.
Are there any restrictions to the Emory Guest
Access network?
Yes. You will be automatically logged off after 4
hours and will not have the full bandwidth or privileges
that extend to regular Emory Unplugged users. Also,
you will not have access to some of Emory University's
electronic resources, such as Library database subscriptions
that are restricted to Emory University faculty, staff,
and students.
How can I get technical support for configuring
my laptop?
Our team of Learning Commons student assistants is happy
to help. Please refer to the Hours
for Tech Support page for their hours of availability.
Can I set-up my laptop to print to a Learning Commons printer using the wireless network?
YES! Please see our
detailed instructions for setting up your PC or
Mac laptop, or, for assistance in-person, please ask
one of the Learning Commons student assistants for help.
See the Hours
for Tech Support page for their hours of availability.
