Recalls. Books may be recalled by another borrower. If an item checked out to you is recalled, you have 14 days (from the date the recall was placed) to return that item. After 14 days, recall fines accrue on your account.

Reserves. Items on Reserve usually circulate for 2 hours.

Storage

Many items in the Chemistry Library collections are kept in Storage.  Requested items usually take about 1 business day to arrive at the Chemistry Circulation desk.  Storage article requests are delivered to patrons on their desktops via their ILLiad accounts.

To request an item from storage, first look it up in EUCLID and then display the item in the search result window by clicking "View." Click “Request” and enter your Username and Password. Click “Request Item from Storage” and follow the prompts.

Renewing Materials

All borrowers may renew their items by going to My Account.  Your account link is also located in the top right of the screen in our online catalog EUCLID. Be advised, however, that online renewals are not available for recalled items or for those items that have reached their renewal limit. If your account is blocked or due to expire soon, please email us.

Returning Materials

Outside books drops are located outside the Chmistry Library entrance. Books may also be returned at the Chemistry Circulation Desk or the outside book drop of any Emory library.

Fines

Fines from all Emory libraries may be paid at the Woodruff Circulation desk. Only cash and checks are accepted. EmoryCard, credit cards, and debit cards are not accepted. Library bills for Emory students may also be paid at the Bursar’s Office.

Regular Materials: $0.50 per day

Recalled Books: $2.00 per day

Bound Journals: $2.00 per day

Reserve Items: $1.00 per hour

Please be aware that library accounts may be barred for failure to return recalled items by the recall due date. In addition, library accounts may become blocked due to an excessive number of overdue books or an excessive accumulation of bills on the account.
