 Confidential British Foreign Office political correspondence. Palestine and Transjordan, 1940-1946 The Political Correspondence Files comprise mostly letters and telegrams between the Foreign Office and the diplomatic posts, along with instructions from London and dispatches from the posts. In addition, there are large numbers of documents created by the Foreign Office such as minutes of meetings, reports, and correspondence with other government ministries and foreign government embassies in London. Confidential U.S. State Department central files: Egypt, 1945-1949 The Central Files on Egypt from 1945 to 1959 document the concurrent rise of modern Egyptian nationalism and the fall of British control over the Suez Canal and the Sudan. Modern Egyptian history is closely tied to the volatile history of the Suez Canal; the State Department files offer substantial documentation of the canal’s role in Egypt’s national and international affairs during these crucial postwar years. The Middle East: a documentary resource: Series one: Arab-Israeli relations, 1917-1970

With its focus on the struggle for Palestine, this collection begins with the Balfour Declaration of 1917 and moves on to present all the key documents, covering: the background to the establishment of the State of Israel as a Jewish national home; Black September; the Border wars of the 1950's; formation of the United Arab Republic; and the Paris Peace Conference. Along with conference reports, ministerial memos and diplomatic dispatches, there are letters from the King of Jordan and many other regional leaders, press releases and arms deal reports. Palestine Statehood Committee papers: "Concerning the campaigns for a Jewish army to save the Jewish people of Europe and the establishment of a Hebrew republic in Palestine" The Palestine Statehood Committee Records, 1939-1949, consist of correspondence, memoranda, reports, publications, advertisements, and clippings related to five committees active in the United States from 1939 to 1949: the American Friends of a Jewish Palestine, the Committee for an Army of Stateless and Palestinian Jews, the Emergency Committee to Save the Jewish People of Europe, the American League for a Free Palestine, and the Hebrew Committee of National Liberation. Among these papers are materials on the activities of similar groups in Great Britain and France: the British League for a Free Palestine, and the Ligue française pour une Palestine libre. Records of the Department of State relating to internal affairs of Turkey, 1910-1929  Reproductions of the records from the Department of State, 1910-1929, that relate to Internal Affairs of Turkey, Turkey in Europe, Crete, Turkey in Asia, Palestine, and Tripoli. The records, consisting of bound volumes and unbound documents, are mostly instructions to and dispatches from diplomatic officials.
