Photo: The fine binding "The Phoenix" is by Monique Lallier, one of the Southeast Chapter members of the Guild of Book Workers represented in the exhibition.
Celebrating the centennial of the Wright Brother's first flight, an incredible variety of book arts will be on exhibit in the Schatten Gallery on the third floor of the Robert W. Woodruff Library from May 20 to July 7, 2004. In Flight, as an exhibit theme, has offered a broad topic for interpretation, for GBW members to create an exciting exhibition through their craft of book related arts, including design binding, fine printing, calligraphy, and most popular in this exhibition, the creation of artists' books. The traveling juried show is sponsored by the Southeast Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers and the Preservation Office of the Emory University Libraries.
