Photo: Dave Brubeck Quartet with Joe Benjamin, Bass (1958). Courtesy of Dave Brubeck Collection, Holt-Atherton Special Collections, University of the Pacific Libraries, Stockton, CA.

Images and clippings drawn from the Dave Brubeck Archives based at the Holt-Atherton Special Collections, University of the Pacific Libraries illustrate Dave Brubeck's views on integration and the jazz musician's history of interaction with other African American musicians. This exhibition is presented as a complement to Emory's Department of Music's Dave Brubeck Festival, which will provide a special look at his role in the Civil Rights Movement, musical compositions and style, and his impact on jazz history.
