About the Exhibition

The unique characteristics of fibers such as wool, cotton, silk and linen that are spun and woven, along with the overall history of textiles and the parallel development of human civilization will be examined in this major exhibition featuring the work of the Peachtree Handspinners Guild. Items ranging from exquisitely spun skeins to sophisticated garments and three dimensional objects created through weaving, knitting, crocheting, felting and other methods will be showcased, as will presentations of the use of natural dyes, unique and historical tools, and equipment collected by many of the guild members. The strong ties of friendship and family created by the love of working with fiber will also be a highlight of the exhibition.
