Emory Libraries launches new Course Reserves tool

Published 08-11-2014

Emory Libraries and Information Technology has launched a new Course Reserves tool that will make it easier for instructors to reserve materials for their students.

The new system is very similar to the previous tool, Reserves Direct. Course Reserves will enable instructors to request materials directly from the discoverE catalog. Instructors will have direct access from the Course Reserves tool also, where they will find their previous reserves from as far back as fall 2011 migrated into their accounts, which they can reactivate or archive. Earlier course materials may be added on request. In addition, Course Reserves is integrated into Blackboard for further convenience.

The library services staff has a Course Reserves webpage and a video describing the changeover and new tool. The Libraries launched the new Course Reserves tool in May, and faculty and students have been using it for courses during the summer.
