About 110 people attended the March 2 informal digital scholarship dialog with Emory University Distinguished Professor Salman Rushdie and Erika Farr, digital archives coordinator in the Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library (MARBL).
Rushdie was entertaining and insightful, as always. The two discussed MARBL’s processing of his archive and its effect on his ability to write his upcoming memoir, as well as how computers and other technology affect Rushdie’s writing and creative process. Rushdie also discussed how he’s used social media, particularly Twitter. The conversation takes an unexpected and humorous turn at the end.
Video of the conversation is posted on Emory’s YouTube channel and on iTunes U
