Need to find books at Emory?
To find materials located at any Emory library, search EUCLID, Emory's online catalog.
EUCLID will tell you what books and journals are owned but it will not identify specific articles in journals and only broadly allows you to search by subject to identify the contents of books.
Use EXACT SEARCH if you have an exact title or author name.
Use KEYWORD SEARCH if you are searching with natural language terminology as opposed to controlled vocabulary or thesaurus terminology.
For comprehensive subject searching in EUCLID it's recommended that you use Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) and select the BROWSE search mode. Browsing will retrieve a list of subject headings established by the Library of Congress.
A sample list of Library of Congress (LC) subject headings with scope notes, broader terms, narrower terms, and see also terms identified for organic chemistry includes:
LC Subject Heading Chemistry, Organic (May Subd Geog)
call number range for books on Organic Chemistry [QD241-QD441]

chemistry. Works on special groups of carbon
compounds and their reactions are entered under
Carbon componds.

Books in the physical sciences have LC call numbers in the Q-QE and T-Z call number range. Most materials in EUCLID which say "held by General" are located in the Woodruff Library. All books having a QD call number and say "held by Chemistry" are located in the Chemistry Library.
Need to find books not owned by Emory Libraries?
Search GIL or World Cat
GIL Universal Catalog
(Galileo Interconnected Libraries for the University System of Georgia)
If Emory does not have an item you want or need, check GIL. There's a good possibility that Georgia Tech, The University of Georgia, or Georgia State may have what you're looking for.
