Background Information on a topic

Reviews

TIP           EUCLID will also help you find a review on a subject. Many books,

called review serials, have titles which start with the words "Annual

review of...", "Advances in...", "Progress in...", "Critical Reviews in...",

etc. Such works usually look like a book and will be found in EUCLID.

Watch for them to appear in a display of references when you do a subject search.

Review articles briefly summarize many primary research articles or other

works and give the bibliographic information needed to find the original

work. Reviews are very popular with scientists as a way of gathering

information. Reviews provide a lot of information in a compact source, and

using them allows researchers to quickly scan a large body of literature when

a new research project is begun.
