Search Strategy Profile

The second type of alerting or current awareness profile, the search strategy profile, should contain a high percentage of relevant citations.

In the search strategy profile, the chemist chooses search terms which reflect areas of research interest. The profile may contain subject words, author's names, journals of interest, or even cites citations. Search strategy profiles may be run automatically within a selected database by the vendor. Emails including the results are sent to the user. Alternatively, a user may simply save a profile on a server and upload it periodically to search the database updates.
