Overview
The
mission of the Collection Management Division is to develop,
manage, and evaluate collections in all formats for the
Main Library (including the Chemistry and Music & Media libraries) to support advanced teaching and research at Emory University.
This is the work of more than 25 Subject Librarians who are the face of the library to faculty and students, both for building collections
and for providing key services. To guide us in building
collections, our Subject Librarians, in consultation with faculty, have developed Collection Policies for the selection of new materials to support Emory's curriculum. Specific department collection policies and collection overviews are also available.
While
continuing to build and preserve our growing print collections,
we are focusing increased attention on the acquisition
of full text material online. Faculty and students are encouraged to recommend titles for purchase or adding
as a web resource to EUCLID. Please contact the appropriate Subject Librarian for immediate service, or use our online purchase request form to make a suggestion for acquisition.
