Information for Vendors
Overview
of the Emory Libraries
The
Emory library system is actually comprised of nine libraries. The General Library is comprised of the Main Library (Robert W. Woodruff), the
Marian K. Heilbrun Music and Media Library, and the Chemistry
Library. The General Libraries building also houses the Center for Business Information
(CBI), which supports the faculty and students of the Gozieuta
School of Business, as well as the Manuscript, Archives,
and Rare Book Library (MARBL). The Hoke O’Kelley Library serves the students on the Oxford Campus. Pitts Theology Library works closely with the Candler School of Religion. The Macmillan Law Library and the Health Sciences Center serve the Law School
and School of Medicine, respectively.
Subject Librarians consider products (in all formats) for purchase
and often establish trials of new databases. However, please note that inquiry about a product or trial for a product does
not assume or guarantee future purchase of that product.
For a listing of contact information for subject liasions
and their respective subject/discipline areas, see the following: http://web.library.emory.edu/services/collmgt/liaisons.php.
For
general collection management inquiries, please contact Chuck
Spornick (libcds@emory.edu) , Director of Collection Management, Woodruff Library.
For
collection management inquiries at other Emory libraries,

Important Information for Vendors:
- Emory’s
current FTE for the 2006-2007 academic year is 12,000;
however, resources licensed to a specific library (e.g.,
such as
Westlaw for the Law Library) may reflect different FTE
counts.
- Databases licensed to General
Libraries (i.e., Robert W. Woodruff) are available to Emory
patrons at all Emory libraries, but restrictions may be
placed on resources held by other libraries.
- Authentication via IP address
to products is highly preferred over password access.
- Emory does subscribe to a number
of licensing guidelines when considering purchase of electronic
products. For example, issues of archival access, currency, and completeness of electronic
copies are essential when considering electronic-only access
to journal susbcriptions. For more information on Emory’s licensing criteria for e-only access, please take a look at the following document: http://web.library.emory.edu/moving_beyond_paper/FAQ.html#faq4. For further information on licensing requirements and guidelines, please contact Lisa Macklin (lmackli@emory.edu), Team Leader for Electronic Resources, Woodruff Library.
