Some common reference questions are listed below. Please read them before submitting your question.

Q. I'm a visitor. Can I use the library?
A. Visitors are welcome to use the Woodruff Library's print and microforms collections after first checking in at the security desk. There are two computer workstations available for internet access. Borrowing privileges may be purchased by the general public for $75.00 for six months or $100.00 for one year. Other Emory Libraries visitor information: Music & Media Library, Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book Library, Health Sciences Library, Law Library, Theology Library.

Q. Do the Emory libraries own a particular book, journal or other item?
A. Check our online library catalog, EUCLID.

Q. Emory doesn't own the book/journal I need.  How can I get it?
A. Emory students, faculty and staff can request items from other libraries via Interlibrary Loan.  For more information about Interlibrary Loan policies and procedures, click here.

Q. Is the journal article I want available in full-text online?
A. Look up the title of the journal in EUCLID. Most journals with online access have a link labeled "Electronic access" after the title. Most online journals are available to Emory faculty, students, and staff only; other users will need to come to the library to consult the paper copy.

Q. I'm an Emory user connecting from off-campus.  What resources do I have access to?
A. EUCLID catalog access is available to anyone with internet access. Access to most databases is provided for Emory faculty, students, and staff only.  For further information, consult the off-campus access information page.

Q. I need assistance with manuscripts, rare books, or Emory University archives. Can you help me?
A. Most special collections items are cataloged in EUCLID, so check there first. If you still need assistance, consult the Special Collections page for more information.

Q. How do I renew my books online, see if I have fines due, check on items I've requested or see what books I have checked out?
A. Go to EUCLID and click on the small dark blue User Services button at the top of the page. You will need your seven-digit Emory ID number. For any questions about these services, contact the Circulation and Reserves department.

Q. The item I want is checked out, in storage, or at the Oxford library. How can I get it?
A. Go to EUCLID and display the item you want. Click the Request button at the top or bottom of the page and select the type of request you want to make (recall, storage or Atlanta-Oxford loan). You will need your seven-digit Emory ID number. (Non-Emory users should contact the Circulation and Reserves department with questions about these requests.)

Q. I'm a student from another university. Can I check out materials from Emory's libraries?
A. Students from Emory, Georgia Tech, GSU and UGA can check out materials from all four schools' libraries using their student ID cards. Students from schools that participate in the ARCHE program must obtain an interlibrary use card from their home library before checking out materials from Emory.
