History:

The Emory University Storage Library was constructed in August 1986 to alleviate the growing space constraints of the campus libraries. High-density, mobile compact shelving was installed to accommodate the maximum volume of material in the space. As new storage shifts are undertaken, additional bays of compact shelving are built. The space of the facility is apportioned among campus libraries. Individual bays of compact shelving house collections for the General Libraries, Pitts Theology Library, Health Sciences Center Library and the Hugh MacMillian Law Library.
