- This is a gateway to a number of

Jewish studies):

History and Life
1964 to present
- Indexes history journals dealing
with U.S. and Canadian history. It also lists book
reviews and dissertations.
- Christian
Science Monitor -- Historical
1908-1991
- Provides full text of all articles.
- Dissertation
Abstracts
1862 to present
- Serves as an index of U.S. (and later,
Canadian and some European) dissertations. Abstracts,
or summaries, are given for those listed after mid-1980.
Abstracts of earlier dissertations can be found in
the print version (Z5055. U6A1).
- Historical
Abstracts
1955 to present
- An index to historical journals,
books and dissertations, Historical Abstracts
covers world history from 1450 to the present.
- Humanities
& Social Sciences Abstracts (1907
to present)
- Coverage includes a wide range of
interdisciplinary fields covered in a broad array
of humanities and social sciences journals. There
are some foreign language titles included prior to
1965; thereafter all titles are in English.
- New
York Times Historical
1851-2001
- Offers full text images of all articles.
- PAIS
International
1971 to present
- This began in 1915 as Bulletin
of the Public Affairs Information Service (Z7163
.P9). A good source for books, articles, government
publications and publications of associations and
societies.
- Periodicals
Contents Index (1800 to present)
- Covers a large number of scholarly
journals in the humanities and social sciences, most
of them from the 20th century but some going back
into the 19th. You can search by broad subject area
("Jewish Studies"), by keyword, by author,
or by keyword in title.
- Reader's
Guide Retrospective
1890-1983
- The great index to American popular
and general interest magazines. These are the periodicals
that everyone read and subscribed to.
- Social
Sciences Index
1984 to present
- An index to scholarly journals. It's
print version goes back to 1975.
- Times
Digital Archive (1785-1985)
- Displays the fully searchable complete
text of every issue of the newspaper. Searches can
be done on keyword, adverstisements, editorials, people
and photographs.
