- Full-text coverage of over 8000 business and news publications
in 22 languages. Excellent for country political and economic
conditions. Works only on Microsoft Internet Explorer.

- A vast index of articles, essays and books relating to
Islam, North Africa and the Middle East. It has good coverage
of Mandate Palestine and Israeli topics.

- An author/subject index to selected English language journals
of scholarly and general interest.
- JSTOR
(coverage varies; earliest is 1895 to present)
- JSTOR (Journal Storage Project) contains the complete
text of every issue of 218 prominent scholarly journals
in history, economics, Middle East studies, political science
and other fields. Not only is the text of all articles available
but every word of every article is searchable. Coverage
is usually from the first issue of a journal with a two
to five year gap between the latest JSTOR issue and the
latest issue published year.
- LEXIS-NEXIS
Academic (ca. 1970 to present)
- Contains the complete text of some 1400 newspapers and
periodicals. Dates of coverage for individual titles vary
but none earlier than 1969.
- PAIS
International
(1971
to present)
- The print version, Public Affairs Information Service
Bulletin, goes back to 1915 and is shelved at Reference
Z7163 .P9. This index/bibliography lists articles from
magazines, journals and newspapers, books, government documents
and research reports issued by non-governmental organizations,
think-tanks, and international organizations.
- Periodicals
Contents Index (1800 to present)
- Covers a large number of scholarly journals in the humanities
and social sciences, most of them from the 20th century
but some going back into the 19th. You can search by broad
subject area ("Area Studies- Middle East"), by keyword,
by author, or by keyword in title.
- Project
Muse (coverage varies; mid-1990's to present)
- This database gives full-text access to the contents of
150 journals in the social sciences and humanities. "...Project
MUSE covers the fields of literature and criticism, history,
the visual and performing arts, cultural studies, education,
political science, gender studies, and many others."
- World
News Connection (1994 to present)
- Offers a vast number of foreign news sources in full-text
translation. It concentrates on political, socioeconomic,
technical and environmental issues. For coverage of events
from 1975 to 1996, see WNC's predecessor, the
Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS).
- Worldwide
Political Science Abstracts (1967 to present)
- Indexes over a thousand journals drawn from international
sources.
