    The major current indexing service in American history. Covers journal articles from 1964 to the present and, since 1974, book reviews and dissertations. Search EUCLID, Emory's online library catalog, to locate the books, journals and dissertations available here at Emory.
  • JSTOR
    JSTOR (Journal Storage Project) contains the complete text of over 100 prominent scholarly journals in a number of fields, including history and literature. Not only is the text of all articles available online but every word of every article in all journals can be searched. Some titles go back to the nineteenth century but all end in the mid nineties.
  • MLA International Bibliography
    Online coverage of this major indexing service for literary criticism begins in 1963. Earlier paper copies are available from 1921 to the present (Z7003 .M6). Search EUCLID, Emory's online library catalog, to see if we have the items cited in this bibliography,
  • Research Library
    Indexes articles from academic journals and popular magazines in the humanities, social sciences, general sciences, and business since 1986. Full-text available starting in 1991.
  • War, Literature, and the Arts
    The last two volumes of this periodical are available online. According to the editors"WLA seeks to illuminate...the intersection of war and art." They "publish short fiction, poetry, personal essay/memoir, visuals, and scholarly essays for a general audience." Paper copies are available in the Woodruff Library under the call number PN56 .W3W34.

    Aims to cover "the whole genre of American war films" including feature films, documentaries, short subjects, serials and cartoons. There are entries for individual films, particular wars, and themes, e.g. "antiwar films."
  • Encyclopedia of American War Literature (2001)
    Reference PS169 .W27E53 2001
    Includes entries on "major writers and texts that have imaginatively represented the American experience of war...also includes topical entries that survey the literature of America's major wars" and other special topics. A brief bibliography follows each entry.
  • Literature Resource Center
    Provides access to full text biographies, bibliographies and critical analysis of authors from every age and literary discipline. Includes articles from CONTEMPORARY AUTHORS, CONTEMPORARY LITERARY CRITICISM, DICTIONARY OF LITERARY BIOGRAPHY, and much more.
  • Novels of World War I (1981)
    Reference Z5917 .W33H33
    Includes over 900 adult and 370 juvenile English language novels dealing with World War I. Each entry includes a paragraph summary of the work.
  • Novels of World War II (1993)

    Follows the pattern established in the NOVELS OF WORLD WAR I (cited above) except it excludes juvenile works.
  • Vietnam Experience; a Concise Encyclopedia of American Literature, Songs, and Films
    Reference DS557.73 .H55 1998
    This work was created "to provide readers with a comprehensive guide to the most
    notable of the. . . creative works" about the Vietnam War. Includes articles giving the historical background and critical reception for close to fifty of these works. A bibliography of additional films, songs, fiction, poetry and plays about the War follows.

    Cites and abstracts critical works about the Vietnam War. Includes general works, works by genre, and works about particular authors.

    Arranged by genre (novels, short stories, drama, poetry, miscellaneous), this bibliography lists and describes imaginative works about the Vietnam War. More than 1300 works are included.
