Access UN
1946-present
The Readex Index to United Nations Documents & Publications, provides fast access to current and retrospective United Nations documents and publications. Articles appearing in UN periodicals are individually indexed. Indexing of the bilateral and multilateral treaties in the UN Treaty Series is another unique feature of the Index.

Columbia International Affairs Online
1991 to present
CIAO publishes a wide range of scholarship, dating from 1991 forward, that includes working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, and proceedings from conferences. New material is added to each section of CIAO on a regular basis. Working papers are augmented every month, as are conference proceedings, policy briefs and economic indicators. Links and resources, the schedule of events and the response files are updated weekly. New journal issues and books are added as they become available.

Index to articles appearing in about 5000 journals in the sciences, 1500 journals in the social sciences, and 1200 journals in the humanities. The database is updated weekly, and goes back to January 1992.

Foreign Broadcast Information Service
1975-1996
The Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) Electronic Index is an index to the Daily Reports issued by the U.S. Government. The Daily Reports include translated broadcasts, news agency transmissions, newspapers, periodicals, and government statements from nations around the world. They focus on political, economic, scientific, and cultural issues and events throughout the world.

FRANCIS
1984 to present
Contains records from more than 3,000 journals, books, dissertations, and other American and European sources. Among the subjects covered are: art history, art and archaeology, history of science, computers and law, geography, sociology, religion, health, ethnology, economics, health management, philosophy, education, linguistics, prehistory, Latin American studies, and literature. Coverage is from 1984 to the present. FRANCIS is produced in France so many search items will be in French.
 
Historical Abstracts
1955 to present
Covers the history of the world from 1450 to the present, excluding United States and Canada; most of the material covered was published after 1973.

International Bibliography of the Social Sciences
1981 to present
IBSS is a bibliographic database compiled by the British Library of Political & Economic Science of the London School of Economics & Political Science. This database contains bibliographic information from an international selection of publications (including over 2600 journals) in the fields of economics, political science, sociology, and anthropology. The bibliographic data in respect of the years 1980 to 1986 inclusive was originally compiled by the International Committee for Social Science Information and Documentation, and provided by courtesy of the International Committee for Social Science Information and Documentation and UNESCO. Coverage is from 1981 to the present and is updated quarterly.

International Political Science Abstracts

IPSA is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles from periodicals published throughout the world. The abstracts summarize the source articles. Articles in English are abstracted in English; those in other languages are abstracted in French, with all titles translated into English. Coverage is from 1989 to the present and is updated quarterly.

Research Library

Multidisciplinary database that covers more than 2500 publications, including academic journals in the humanities, the social sciences, and the general sciences. Also included are popular magazines and business publications. Topics include business, current events, economics, history, literature, psychology, religion, sociology, and women's studies. The database provides citations and abstracts from 1986 to the present. The full text of the articles from many publications is also available starting in 1991. Coverage is from 1986 to the present with weekly updates.

RLIN Bibliographic File
A union catalog of 75 million items held in comprehensive research libraries and special libraries in RLG member institutions, plus over 100 additional law, technical, and corporate libraries.

SourceOECD
This online service provides full-text access to OECD studies, periodicals, and statistics from 1998 forward. Included are annuals, outlooks, policy reviews, conference proceedings, analytical reports, guidelines, working papers, all periodicals, and 27 statistical databases.

Statistical Universe

Because the information stored about each article includes the article's cited reference list (often called its bibliography), you can also search the databases for articles that cite a known author or work.

Contains statistical data for over 550 development indicators and time series data from 1960-2000 for over 200 countries and 18 country groups. Data includes social, economic, financial, natural resources, and environmental indicators. Results can be scaled, indexed against a particular year, viewed by percentage change, and charted.

International Committee of the Red Cross
