As the new year begins

2011 Mistress of Ceremonies, Crystal Edmonson
On Saturday, January 28, 2012 experience an evening with former U.S. Poet Laureate, Billy Collins, perhaps the most popular poet in the country. Collins believes, “Poetry can and should be an important part of our daily lives.” Those who will hear him read aloud at our 12th annual 12th Night Revel will be charmed by his warm, witty words and unassuming manner. It’s an opportunity not to be missed.
Since the first 12th Night Revel was held 12 years ago, this signature event of the Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library at Emory has become an unforgettable way to celebrate the spirit of poetry. We hope you will join us for a wonderful meal, convivial company, and poems read aloud by Collins and our other special guests.
It’s an evening you will long remember – and all proceeds benefit one of Atlanta’s cultural treasures, Emory’s world-renowned Manuscripts, Archives, and Rare Book Library. Past revels have been unforgettable occasions of magic and merriment.
This year, we are thrilled to feature a special appearance by Billy Collins, perhaps the most popular poet in the country. A former U.S. Poet Laureate and winner of countless awards, Collins has been compared to Robert Frost for the way he’s achieved both critical acclaim and broad appeal – some of which he’s earned through appearances on National Public Radio.
